Man... I didn’t think I was going to make it this year with my accident and all. It’s been 3 weeks now and my leg has been getting better but now enough to really be walking around all over the place. So I was a bit worried about how I would get around. Well... the Laguna Seca crew did a great job of shuttling gimps like myself around from parking to the paddocks to other parts of the property.
Unlike last years +110º track
temps that messed the track up...
this year it was clear, sunny
and 75º to 80º all day. Perfect!
And the track... freshly paved.
It looked really good. A friend
got us tickets at the turn 4
grandstands. Jumbotron and a
great view coming out of turn 3,
into and through turn 4 and down
to turn 5.
The race started out somewhat
dramatic with Nicki Hayden going
wide in turn 2 and taking out John Hopkins...
but turned into a Casey Stoner free-for-all. Don’t get me wrong. The 21 year old Aussie rocks... could he be the next Valentino Rossi? Not sure... but after Rossi’s fall earlier this season he’s not killing it out that like he usually does.
As you can see I’m doing better.
I’m still a 1 legged dog but with
some support I can get here and
there.
Thanks Girls!
